Is it 1998? Really? Is it? Because I'd like to know. It seems very strange if it is 1998 because I'm not 15. Did I go back in time? Livejournal didn't exist so am I in some strange bubble where I'm watching and documenting the world around me?
NO! NO NO NO NO NO NOOOO!!
So WHY am I being treated as if it is?! I am 26 god damn years old I have my own place and job and car and relationships and LIFE! Why is it that I am forever pigeon-holed into something that I once was?! I'm not that person anymore, and I haven't been for quite sometime.
Really, people need to get over themselves. I am so sick and tired of this bullshit. Why is it that people think they can push me around and do what they want to me? I had a backbone then, and I have a backbone now! I use it ALL the time just like I once did.
So I'll finish off this rant with a phrase I was quite fond of when I was 15...
Fuck Off! |

BEATLES ROCKBAND!! Yes I am! And now I have to return it. lol So here's my story...
I wake up at 7:30 to take Alex to work so I can be the first in line to buy Beatles: Rockband. I check Wal-Mart first, thinking that Best Buy opens at 9am and Wal-Mart is 24hrs. So in Wal-Mart I head straight for the electronics and what do I see? Beatles: Rockband! And I say "YES!" And then I see it's from $159 and I'm like "That doesn't seem right...everywhere says it's $250...oh well!" So I buy it, and I of course ask if I can return it because it just doesn't seem like this is THE version. She answers yes as long as I have the receipt and it's unopened. Cool!
Then I'm grocery shopping and try to call Best Buy (they are right next door) and well they aren't open. So I'm driving home and I get the customer service/sales line and I'm talking to the lady and if I do the "pre-order" thing I get a free DVD! I'm like HELLS YES! So when I'm giving her the credit card number I'm sitting at a red light and I see cars across from me start to go, yeah... I ran a red light. Thankfully the cars turning didn't hit me and vise versa so I'm driving like 25mph at this point, trying not to freak out and to keep myself from telling the rep what happened. Anyway, she then tells me that her system has been crashing it's hard for her to pull anything up but she takes my information anyway saying she'll put it in later.
I rush home and get online to check my e-mail for a confirmation, nothing. So I go to BestBuy.com and I just order it and I also get the free DVD that has to be mailed to me (oh well! I'll still get it!). But everywhere on their site is that you can't pick it up if your name isn't on the card and they check ID and everything. So now I have to wait until I pick up Alex so he can show him his ID to get it. So he has like $400 charged to his acct and another possible $250 BUT I ordered a store-pick up with the lady on the phone so if the order goes through we can just cancel it.
So that was my day today and it all happened within two and a half hours!
Now I guess I'm going to play WoW until I can play RockBand...my roommates are going to hate me...oh well, I'm planning a Beatles: Rockband party! Let me know if you're interested! |
|
So I was totally social and went to my next door neighbors party. It is his 27th b-day and I met some pretty cool people. Played a game called "stick cup", not as fun as beerball but I have made promises to have them play the next time. I met a guy from RI so I have to ask Matt if he knows the guy (the guy recognized Matt's name).
There was this REALLY pretentious girl where she didn't really one up me with things that I did but it was if I mentioned something I did (or had done) she inserted that she also did something similar. She also made the comment where she was the only 16 year old who read Faulkner...really? I had a cool conversation with two girls Kathy and someone else about current movies and Buffy and Angel and Vampires (True Blood, Twilight) and sci-fi!
The majority of them are vegan liberals who TA at OSU, wow...opposite of me! Anyway, the overall party was good. I hope to party with them again, they're laid back with a touch of pretentiousness but nice and open. |

oh...my...god....OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMVBOMGOMGOMGOGM!!! Can I just make a post of that!? PLEASE?! Because my fucking God!! Bones tonight...one word. AWESOME! Second word (well, phrase) THANK GOD THEY'RE COMING BACK NEXT SEASON!!!!
So, here are my writings as they happened during the show. I at one point, just stopped. So this may have spoilers, but oh well, it's over for the season.
8:06pm Okay so the storyline of this episode threw me for a loop. It plays so close to the time period and how the characters really are, it's hard to discern reality from fiction. I'm loving it! Zach is back too!
8:28pm I have never loved this show more! So far this is the best episode ever! They are airing things out about the characters we never thought we would hear. For example, "They planted the gun because they knew you would touch it and would go to jail for a murder you didn't commit." (Talking about Zach) I can't wait to see this again tomorrow!
8:30pm I am an instant fan of the writer of this show. "I won't fair well in jail...I'm too lovely." I can see sooooo many fanfics starring "Mr. B and Brenn". I'm squeeling and don't want it to end! I am sad that there is no 1940's thing that David Boreanaz talked about. Speaking of him, I would love to just call him up and congratulate him on a job well done.
8:48pm I am so very glad that I was wrong but right about this episode! The 1940's would have been SO cheesy but where is the twist! Are we going to see them solve this case as they really are? I don't get it. It's kind of like the Buffy season 4 ending with the dream.
9:07pm So the show is over and holy shit. Everything came together. There wasn't any Bones and everyone's, we'll say alter-ego, was spot on to the real people. At the beginning (and end), I loved how TJ Thyne did the voice over and his role was SO what people see him as if you break down the Hollywood sunglasses the show puts on.
Angela, is Angela, but we see how she's more dependent on Bones than we're lead to believe.
Sweets being a bartender is a given since most people talk to bartenders like therapists, and Zach as the ever loving assistant that we came to love him as.
You have Cam as Booth knew her before her position at the Jeffersonian, a cop of 10 years for those who didn't know.
This part is a bit racist, but if you're black then you're a rap star or thug. And Clark and Grayson being the only two black males fit that description in the show. I didn't even realize that Grayson was Angela's Grayson (Go Sean Blakemore)!
Wendell's background makes him perfect as the Bouncer, but the real Wendell has this slight Bronxy accent and Bouncer!Wendell didn't. That was cool to see a bit of strength in Michael Terry's ability.
We ALL know Max Keenan is dirty whether he's a criminal taking out dirty cops or as a congressman.
And Vincent is great for a laugh whether it's with non-sensecal facts or as a "Ladies love an accent DJ".
Now to our stars! I don't think Emily Deschanel can play anything but a severely logical role. She herself is that way and the tone of her voice (literally meaning where on the music register it sits) has that je ne se qua about her. She had a role in SVU and it was like seeing Dr. Brennan 10 years before, if she was a cellist. I know she was in Cold Mountain, and I didn't see that, but knowing the reviews it's an easy guess to say she didn't play an abused Bible thumping settler wife. But they call her out as very pragmatic and a business woman in the show when she says to Booth "You used logic against me. I'm so proud!"
Then Booth. Everything comes together when you realize that it's from Booth's point of view. His love for Brennan, and the views of each person. He knows that Zach didn't commit the murder he was convicted of, but since Zach confessed, what else can he do? Cam will always be the Cam he knew when she was 20. Hodgens is the crazy conspiracy theorist but since Bones is a writer, that had to be put somewhere, so why not with Hodgens. It fits. If Hodgens could, he would publish all he knew (and for all we know, he has!).
Then there's Bones. He loves her. He would do anything for her; kill for her and take a bullet for her. He also knows, deep down that everyone at "The Lab" (such a cute name for the club and an AWESOME place for a club let me say!) may work for Bones, they would have his back in an instant and love and respect him as much as they love her. Then, the alcohol thing. Bones doesn't like to make it a habit of drinking a lot because she likes her mind to be clear. "Just because you have a glass of wine a night with your husband doesn't make you an alcoholic." was just SO cute! Because if I remember correctly, they had some conversation like that.
But it's the reason behind not drinking. The baby. Brennan asked Booth for "his stuff" prior to the operation so for him to dream about it shows how much of that life he really wants. The occasional episode will bring it up, and we all assume that it's to teach Bones about love and family, and it does, but it really shows the kind of person Booth is and why he does what he does. Did anyone else see how much they said "My wife" or "My husband"?
So when we come to the end, and we find out that Booth was in a coma, and Brennan was there for it all, it broke my heart. The narration was her writing and him hearing it all. She knows about love, because she loves him. But for him to ask "Who are you?" ....*dies*
So Bones will definitely be back next season! They have ordered six episodes, and I REALLY hope the writer of this episode writes those, because he gave Booth amnesia, he's got to get him out! And those are so delicate to deal with because they can either be really good, or really bad. Personally I think they take one episode to deal with it and that's it. Does anyone know who wrote the episode? And this episode, save for the last three minutes, was filmed before the past few episodes because Emily is NOT pregnant, except for the last three minutes.
I can't wait an entire summer, ohhh but I can't wait to see the fanfics that come from it!
Oh, and here is this HILARIOUS clip about David and Emily talking about B&B babies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GMKRakFthk |
| » Bones tonight and season finale! |
omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!!! So I'm watching Bones, WAITING until the last two minutes of the show to see how they end up in bed together, and it DOESN'T HAPPEN! Well, at least not this one....omg I'm squeeling because I'm Soooooooooo happy!! and I'm flailing everywhere if you saw how jolted I was it would make totally more sense!
*takes a deep breath....squeels....breath*
Okay so I would like to say that I'm VERY happy that Booth getting sick wasn't some weird reaction to a chemical in a case. BUT to a person that's not Brennan (and that's why she's Brennan) being knocked out and seeing a famous dead hockey player, then being in a EXTREMELY stressful situation in which you're helped out by a ghost (THAT BRENANN SEES!!) and to hallucinate seeing Stewie because there is a tough decision, would seem normal.
But since she's Brennan, she instinctively knows something is wrong. He was shot and he went through all of these things so getting a brain tumor seems like the next likely step. I'm glad that it also is a mainly benign tumor and the stats for surviving are extremely high. So with that said...

Okay so if you're a "Bones" fan then you know ALLL about the season finale. And I was excited for it, I REALLY was. I was like "YES! This will be awesome! Because I know the twist!" Well, the twist is NOT the twist. The Director/producer Nathan guy is like "It's not a hallucination, it's the real deal. It's like a love letter to our fans." So now, I'm pissed. I don't want the finale to happen, I mean, yes I do but I don't. I don't know how this isn't jumping the shark or how they are going to keep the chemistry fresh and the same as the past four seasons...well, now to wait for next week dammit!

MY GOD has it been a trying weekend...I am home...thank god! I missed the first choir performance with St Pat's church because my car got towed...in Cincinnati. Have I mentioned that I hate that city?! I really really do. I hated it when I went to school there and I hate it every time I drive through there. I always get a bad feeling and it just gives me the hibie jibies!
Anyway, the March Huddle went well besides that, I met people I didn't know and geeked out on the slightly altered Bacon Flowchart. Baconstrang! Also, it was Manda's birthday and so a thing called "Bacon Explosion" was made and we put a Hanukkah candle in it to celebrate! (Manda was in Boston watching a quidditch game...lucky!)
Then I made the announcement of the Quidditch World Cup 2010! It'll be up in Northern Ohio on July 30, 31, and August 1st 2010. Nothing is set in stone YET but the ball is quickly rolling. Since I'm in charge of the quidditch board for MarCon (I have to get my ticket...) the thing I'm going to focus on is the "QWC '10" and advertising for it. I'm also head of the Rules committee and don't necessarily know what I'll be doing with that.
So anyway, everything is going well, I made the quidditch season schedule and I made the April huddle date and time and then I get the call...the call where Alex said "Don't react and go outside." Now I'm thinking he's going to be all dashing in front of my friends and weird but the tone doesn't match. So I go outside, I don't see him, and he says it "your car has been towed". And where is he? Cincinnati! GOD I HATE CINCINNATI!!! It makes my blood boil! So Mike took me to go pick him up, Kristen and George let is stay with them, Kristen took us back to Cincinnati to get the car and we had to get it towed out of the lot (thank you Safe Auto with free roadside assistance!) and then I drove home. Now I am home and don't want to think about last night at all...
can I die now? please?

Both of these were found in the Columbus Dispatch.
Beatles edition of 'Rock Band' planned
New York (AP) - Rock Band is saying hello to perhaps the greatest rock group of all time.
A Beatles version of the Rock Band video game will make its debut Sept. 9, the group's management said yesterday.
Instruments to accompany the game will be modeled after those used by the Beatles.
It has yet to be determined which Beatles songs will be included in the edition, to be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii video-game consoles.
Representatives of the Beatles, who broke up almost four decades ago, and Rock Band has been planning a collaboration for months.
Initially, the final project was not supposed to be a Rock Band game but another type of game compatible with the instruments used in the series.
But MTV Games said in a statement: "As we moved through the creative process, it just seemed to make sense to clearly highlight the association between the Beatles game and the critically acclaimed Rock Band franchise.
"The game is being developed by Harmonix and will utilize and build upon the core foundation of Rock Band to create a brand-new and innovative Beatles experience."
Gilse Martin, son of Beatles producer George Martin, is developing the product.
Paul, Ringo to play at benefit in April
New York (AP) - Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are teaming to headline a benefit concert.
The former Beatles will reunite onstage April 4 at Radio City Music Hall for a concert to benefit the David Lynch Foundation.
Other acts will include Sheryl Crow, Eddie Vedder, Moby and Bettye LaVette.
Tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. Monday through www.ticketmaster.com.
The foundation, named for director David Lynch, raises money to teach students how to meditate and "change their world from within."

I just couldn't stop talking and I found the subject "ancestry" amusing. In which I proceeded to say "I asked my grandfather where we came from and he said: 'Well, don't tell anyone this, but we think your great great uncle [whoever] was raised by the Indians'." And then 10 minutes later I forgot to mention that I learned this on Thanksgiving.

rrrrggg... So I go to renew my tags today and guess what?! There's a "Bad Check Block" on my account. WTF?! So I go to the "Get live help" and what do they tell me? Call some other number. ...gee...thanks... So anyway I find the phone, it's dead, wait for it to recharge, then call. And who do I get? Some vapid 18 year old! And her low, calm (what I would call lazy), valley girl voice is like "Um, if you send it in...we'll check it out..." so after like 10 minutes of this, I ask for a supervisor. And she keeps trying to "Solve my problem" (which means she's trying to convince me of the procedure) and I have to tell her I don't care about the information she's giving me, I'm complaining about her. I've asked for a Supervisor three times and she better get one.
So the Supe comes on, and I don't rant to the woman, but I do talk stridently. And the woman is like "Well that is her tone, and we all have different tones..." DAMMIT! I am fucking done with this PC hippy-dippy bullshit!! And I basically tell the woman that in more, albeit reluctant, words. That, yes, people do have different tones, but there is also something called professionalism. I don't want to call into a government agency and have some vapid twelve year old answer. I suggested that the BMV invest in phone etiquette classes and have people learn how to speak in a professional manner. The woman did agree (I don't care if she was sincere or not) and then asked if my problem was resolved. I said "no" because basically three different sources were supposed to contact me about the check, and I didn't get anything. The BMV did not receive any returned mail, but that's not what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about is the fact the bank didn't notify us. Well, if we can prove that the check cleared, or that the bank didn't have any return checks then all of the fees will be waived. I am praying that happens.
Oh yeah, I did call the CSA a vapid 12 year old with a 2.0 gpa and scraped by in life with only a GED...but I digress the problem is almost resolved.

So I was trying to design a bead pattern (rosary) and when I do this I generally use my numerology number (which is 3) as a guideline. And it got me thinking "What is Jesus' number?" Since my religion says he was born December 25th I went off of that date. Well, to add MORE numbers to the mix, I had to discover what year he was born. But he was born in the year 0, you say? Actually he was born in the year 5508. Medieval Christians followed a different timeline of years to equate for the 6-10,000 years they believed the Earth was in existence. Now, the answers that I found, were pretty astounding...
1 + 2 + 2 + 5 = 10 1 + 0 = 1
1 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 0 + 8 = 28 2 + 8 = 10 1 + 0 = 1
BOTH come out to 1! That's pretty cool since Christianity comes down to the fact it all revolves around Jesus. He is supposed to be No. 1 in our lives and in the life of the Earth, so I think in a small way, that's pretty cool.

So as I so eloquently posted yesterday, I'm depressed. And as I looked in the mirror during my dance class last night and at work today, it just kept getting worse. You can say the mirrors are bad (and the ones in the studios really are) but I am totally overweight. That's not the cause of my depression, however I feel like it would help clear it. So what did I do? Searched for pro-ana sites and lj comms.
I think a reason why I am so big is that I'm afraid of becoming what I once was, however that fear stops me from becoming what I want to be. Did I eat anything today? Yes, a banana, apple, two cups of tea and cookie dough. I feel like shit right now, physically as well as emotionally (I'm pretty sure it was the cookie dough) and it's really hard to not follow my ed.
I was thinking about participating in lent (I'm not Catholic), and doing a true lent where I fast all day except where I eat at either 1pm or 6pm. But since I'm going to Monica's on Saturday I didn't know if that would interfere or not (doubtful). I have a goal to eat 3 servings of fruit each day and normally I do that in the morning, but I could move it to one of the eating times, so that's not really a problem. The question is would I binge on the eating times or not. I really just don't want to eat right now. I don't want to drink water, tea, coffee, or soda. I don't want food to pass my lips.
I'm just so...

I'm depressed and I don't know why. Oh, I know why, because I am in constant fear that I'm going to lose my craptastic job. Here's the thing, under normal circumstances I would be like "Good-bye job!" however, with the economy as it is, and with me applying for all sorts of jobs, and not even getting an interview or call back, I can't leave. And I WOULD leave if I had a job or a chance at school. Because the job I DO want is my teaching job, and if I get fired from the craptastic one then I lose my teaching job too. It sucks ASS!
But why can't you go back to school? Because for some reason I've been put on academic probation. ME! Really!? I barely attend that school, let alone do anything to be put on probation for! Of course in hindsight when Godiva started piling on all the hours and Andrew stopped paying rent it did go to the way side and I forgot to withdraw. Sucks to be me! I HATE FEBURARY!! I'm getting my hair done on Sunday! YAY!! But the boo is that Brandon left...I scheduled it with Stacey, she's cool but I don't know if she can do my hair the way that he can. I mean he had this specific way of layering my hair. I might have to find out where he works again, call him, take notes, and give them to Stacey. But it's been *counts* three months since I've had my hair done, so I'm sure that any real style has grown out. So, get a new one, you say? Oh no no no! Once I get a style I keep it until *I* choose to change it. I was afraid he was going to leave, I really was. le sigh, oh well. at least my color profile is kept and all I have to say is "add intensity" and they will, and nothing about THAT will change. But it will be all nice and pretty for Christmas and CB!
